Stephen Getchell


I was born in Canada, raised in Northern New England and have pastored in New Jersey, Michigan and New York City. I was involved in Christian School education as a teacher and principal for 8 years and have been lead pastor at Central Assembly since December 2004. Sophia and I have four children Alex , Andrew , Dina and James.

Education: Bachelors of Science in Bible (Pastoral Ministries Concentration and a Biblical Greek Minor) from Valley Forge Christian College. Master of Education (Christian School Administration) from Regent University. Presently working on DMin. (Missional Leadership Concentration) from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

My favorite food: gyros, medium rare steaks, hot wings and anything Korean, Chinese, Japanese or Thai.

I can’t live without...playing with my kids and reading a book.

Most embarrassing moment:  almost passing out at each baby’s birth

Best memory:  alone times with Sophia & visiting Greece

Favorite activity:  going to Pitt Football games in the Fall
